Salesforce Code Builder is Widely Available, Enabling Development Teams to Customize CRM Directly from the Web
Code Builder is fully commercially available, introducing a new web-based integrated development environment (IDE) that provides developers, administrators, and architects with open, modern, and flexible development tools. With access to the latest Salesforce tools, users are able to increase their productivity and creativity. This includes a range of developer extensions such as Einstein, which uses generative AI to turn natural language into code. Other extensions on the Open VSX marketplace give users the ability to quickly customize their CRM directly from the browser.
Salesforce Code Builder provides developers, administrators, and architects with the following capabilities:
- Easily Customize Salesforce: With a few clicks from the browser, developers can deploy preloaded Salesforce extensions, CLIs, languages, and frameworks (like Lightning Web components, Apex, SOQL queries, etc.) in the Web-IDE, accessing these features without installation, configuration, or updates.
- Accelerate Development with Generative AI: With generative AI from Einstein for Developers, developers will be able to write, test, debug, and refactor their code faster. Einstein for Developers is built specifically for Salesforce languages and frameworks and can be used through a separate extension.
- Build a Flexible and Familiar Environment: Developers can customize Code Builder by using third-party extensions from the Open VSX marketplace. It's a community-driven open platform for publishing and consuming VS Code extensions, creating feature-rich IDE experiences that support DevOps workflows and source-code driven development. Both Salesforce Code Builder and Anypoint Code Builder are built on the same infrastructure, but Salesforce Code Builder comes preloaded with Salesforce languages, frameworks, and related tools. Anypoint Code Builder, on the other hand, preloads MuleSoft and Anypoint tools.
- Extensible: Users can add additional extensions provided by the Open VSX market to each IDE to further meet their development needs.
Salesforce Code Builder is now available to all customers. It's included with Salesforce Professional Edition and higher at no additional cost. Einstein for Developers is currently in public beta.
